Easy DIY Pastel Bath Bomb | bath bomb | diy | diy home

It’s that time of night where we got to drop a bomb… a BATH BOMB!

You don’t even need to like taking baths to appreciate the fizzy, swirly sorcery that bath bombs create in the water. Seeing as pastels are the new black, we’ve decided to show you how to make these dreamy pastel bath bombs with bowls that you probably (or hopefully) have at home!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 1/2 cup epson salt
  • 2 tbs coconut oil (melted)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla essential oil (any oil you like)
  • food coloring (5-10 drops depending on how opaque you want the colors)
  • tea leaves, sprinkles or glitter (anything else you want to add to the bath bomb)

Utensils

  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • small or medium sized bowls (depending on size of bath bombs)

How to make Your Own Bath Bombs:

Step 1 – Combine the baking soda, citric acid and epson salt together in a medium mixing bowl. Mix together with whisk and separate into 4 smaller bowls (one for each color).

Step 2 – In 3 separate smaller bowls, melt the coconut oil, add vanilla essential oil and then take the food coloring and add 3-5 small drops into each bowl. Tip: it’s always easier to start with less, than to put too much at the start, especially to get pastel shades.

Step 3 – Take the matching sized bowls and fill each side with the bath bomb mixture by taking each color and layering it into the bowl. If you’re using sprinkles or tea leaves, put this into the bowl first before adding the bath bomb mixture so that you will see it on the outer edges. Make sure the mixture is firmly packed down so there aren’t any loose areas.

Step 4 – Make sure you have excess mixture and overfill each bowl so that when you combine the two bowls there aren’t any hollow areas and the bath bomb will stay intact.

Step 5 – Refrigerate for 1 hour

Step 6 – Take out the bowls and carefully uncover. The bath bombs should be firm and ready for the bath!
