What this teen boy did to a sleeping homeless man will just melt your heart! | pray | prayer | viral photo
A photo of a kind-hearted teenage boy who knelt down in silent prayer for a sleeping homeless man, has taken the Internet by storm.
Eric Gaines, a police officer at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, was at a bus stop on March 1, 2016, when he saw a teenager aged about 15 or 16 years old, walk up to a sleeping homeless man and pray for him.
“He walked over to him and just knelt down and put his hands down on his foot,” Gaines said to The Baltimore Sun. The boy started praying. “I thought it was an amazing sight. I had to take a picture of it. It was extremely powerful,” Gaines added.
Gaines saw that those who were with the boy had held the bus for him, and very quickly, he ran back to the bus and left.
Gaines recognized the homeless man and took a photo of the boy’s heartwarming gesture to upload to his Facebook. The post soon went viral.
Speaking on what he thought of the kind-hearted boy, Gaines said, “He didn’t do it for any accolades or any praise. … I didn’t get a chance to say anything. I wanted to say something to him. But it was just as if he did what he had to do and left.”
